Roxas on slip in survey: ‘Family first, okay lang ‘yan’
Former Interior secretary and senatorial candidate Mar Roxas expressed no regret on his 20-day absence from the campaign trail even if he slipped from the latest Pulse Asia survey, saying he did it for his family.
“Of course not, family ko ‘yan, sinundo ko ‘yung pamilya ko. Family first. Okay lang yan. At saka may 30 days pa naman,” Roxas said before business process outsourcing leaders and employees Thursday when asked if he regrets his absence.
Roxas said he would just work and campaign hard in coming days leading to Election Day to catch up.
“Ginawa ko naman para sa pamilya ko and priority ko iyon. Priority ko ang misis ko, ang mga anak ko. So just work hard. I am going to campaign as hard as I can in the next 30 days,” he said.
In February, Roxas’ and wife, television broadcaster Korina Sanchez welcomed their twins, Pepe and Pilar, who were conceived through gestational surrogacy in the United States.
Roxas fetched his family and arrived in the Philippines on April 1.
In the latest Pulse Asia survey covering March 23 to 27 released on Thursday, Roxas got a lower rating of 31.3 percent, good for a rank of 11th to 17th. He previously got a rating of 39.8 in the February survey. — Amita Legaspi/RSJ, GMA News
