Images inside post-quake Chuzon Supermarket show darkness, disarray

Once bright and alive with shoppers and activity, Chuzon Supermarket in Porac, Pampanga was rendered dark and stifling after its upper floors collapsed due to the Magnitude 6.1 earthquake that hit parts of Luzon on Monday.

Shai Lagarde of Stand for Truth gained exclusive access into what was left of the supermarket and came up with images of ceiling panels bent out shape and grocery items both on the floor and on the shelves.

Video showed rescuers going through supermarket looking for survivors and inspecting the damage on parts of the structure left standing.

Porac was among areas that were the hardest-hit by quake that frightened residents from Zambales all the way to Metro Manila.

At least 16 people died while 112 others were injured.

As many as 16 were still missing as of Tuesday, and some were feared trapped inside the Chuzon supermarket. —Margaret Claire Layug/NB, GMA News
