Vote-buying suspects in Cavite undergo inquest proceedings

The suspects on the alleged vote-buying incident in Bacoor, Cavite, underwent inquest proceedings on Monday.

According to a Balitanghali report by Chino Gaston, the suspects were brought to the Bacoor Hall of Justice to face Fiscal Bernadette Platon.

They were facing complaints for alleged violation of Omnibus Election Code.

The suspects were arrested for supposedly distributing envelopes with cash worth P200 to residents in Barangay Zapote 5 on Saturday at around 6 p.m.

The suspects were nabbed after authorities received a text message from an informant that a vote-buying incident was taking place in the area.

Brigadier General Edward Carranza, chief of the CALABARZON police, has said investigation is still ongoing on the incident.

The report said the suspects refused to give comment on the issue.

The suspects were presently detained at the office of the Bacoor Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG). —Anna Felicia Bajo/KBK, GMA News
