6 MILF men yield in Manila - NCRCom
Six former members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Frontâs Special Operations Group (MILf-SOG) hiding in Metro Manila for an undisclosed period of time have yielded to authorities, the chief of the military metropolitan command said Tuesday. At the Quezon City Police District headquarters in Camp Karingal, Maj. Gen. Fernando Mesa, chief of the Armed Forces National Capital Region Command (NCRCom) presented the six former MILF rebels: Salik Kusain alias Aguila, Ams Kamin, Ibrahim Malacao, Amed Mayang, Nurodin Naga and Suwaib Reposumonsang. Recovered from the group were two M16 rifles, a Thompson sub-machinegun, two caliber 38 revolvers, a homemade shotgun with six ammunition, and assorted ammunition. Mesa said four of the former MILF fighters (Kusain, Kamin, Malacao and Mayang) turned themselves in last June while the other two (Naga and Reposumonsang), early this week. All yielded in Isla Puting Bato in Manilaâs Tondo district. "The surrender of these former rebels greatly contributed to the reduction of potential threats to the security of the entire National Capital Region," Mesa said. Mesa refused to disclose the mission of the group in proceeding to Manila as follow-up operations were still being conducted. First Lieutenant Garysande Mamaludin, information chief of the NCRCom, said the six were apart from the four MILF rebels who surrendered to authorities in September this year. - GMANews.TV
