PARTIAL, OFFICIAL COUNT

Comelec bares party-list groups leading in midterm polls

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Sunday night released a canvass report showing the partial and official count of votes for party-list groups in the May 13 midterm elections.

With 162 out of 167 certificates of canvass (COC) processed as of 7 p.m., the Duterte-allied ACT-CIS continued to lead the party-list elections.

It garnered the highest number of votes with 2,569,702.

Bayan Muna placed second with 1,102,167 votes, while Ako-Bicol made the third spot with 1,045,670 votes.

Also included in the Top 10 were:

  • CIBAC (915,840 votes)
  • ANG PROBINSYANO (761,677 votes)
  • 1Pacman (708,398 votes)
  • Marino (679,876 votes)
  • Probinsyano Ako (623,271 votes)
  • Senior Citizens (507,633 votes)
  • MAGSASAKA (484,814 votes)

A party-list group should garner at least two percent of the voter turnout in the party-list race to secure at least one seat at the House of Representatives.

Up to two additional seats may be given to party-list groups that garner more than two percent.

On the other hand, those who will fall short of the said percentage still have the chance to earn a seat in the House of Representatives if the number of representatives from party-list groups who earned two percent of the party-list race voter turnout is not yet enough to fill 20 percent of the total number of House-allocated seats for party-list representatives. — BM, GMA News
