Imee Marcos, Bong Revilla call on critics to stop the hate

Senators-elect Imee Marcos and Ramon "Bong" Revilla on Wednesday asked their bashers to stop throwing criticisms against them.

"Sa bashers, haters, mga galit sa amin. Hindi naman ako mapaghiganti," Imee told reporters before the proclamation of the winning senatorial candidates at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC).

Imee, daughter of late strongman Ferdinand Marcos, had drawn flak after she repeatedly refused to answer questions about her education. She claimed she had graduated from the University of the Philippines College of Law and Princeton University in the US.

Meanwhile, after the proclamation of winners, Revilla also urged his bashers to stop criticizing him.

"Sana naman matigil na ang pambabatikos at tayo'y magsama-sama para sa bayan," Revilla told reporters.

Revilla had been detained at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center for allegedly amassing P224.5 million in kickbackx after he channeled his Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF), or pork barrel, to bogus foundations of alleged scam mastermind Janet Lim Napoles.

Revilla was acquitted by the Sandiganbayan in December 2018. —LBG, GMA News
