Duterte, other leaders have a group handshake at opening of 34th ASEAN Summit

President Rodrigo Duterte joined nine other leaders of member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations for a group handshake on Sunday during the opening ceremony for the 34th ASEAN Summit in Bangkok, Thailand.

He was on stage with Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha, chairman of 34th ASEAN Summit, Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Brunei's Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, Cambodia's Prime Minister Hun Sen, Indonesian President Joko Widodo, Laos Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith, Malaysia's Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, Myanmar's State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi, and Vietnam's Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

Duterte arrived in Bangkok on Friday for the ASEAN event.

He is expected back in Manila on Sunday night. —KG, GMA News
