Duterte promotes PNP's top intelligence officer, spokesman, 7 others


The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Friday announced the promotion of nine of its senior officials, including the agency's Intelligence chief and spokesperson.

In a statement, the PNP said that President Rodrigo Duterte approved the promotion upon the endorsement of the Civil Service Commission, based on the recommendation of Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary and National Police Commissi Chairman Eduardo M Año and the PNP Senior Officers’ Placement and Promotion Board.

PNP's Director for Intelligence, Police Brigadier General Timoteo G. Pacleb, was promoted to Police Major General.

PNP spokesperson and chief publicist Police Colonel Bernard M. Banac was promoted to the rank of Police Brigadier General, along with Police Col. Walter E. Castillejos, the Executive Officer of the Directorate for Integrated Police Operations in Northern Luzon.

Promoted to the higher rank of Police Col. were Police Lieutenant Col. Hermogenes D. Cabe, PLTC Benliner Capili, PLTC Edilberto DC Leonardo, PLTC Judy S. Lopez, PLTC Fernando R. Ortega, and PLTC Brimar F. Rodica. — Jessica Bartolome/MDM, GMA News
