Isko Moreno, Vico Sotto cross paths for 1st time at Ortigas fun run

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto — probably two of the most talked about mayors to come out of the May 2019 elections — finally met each other on Sunday during a fun run in Ortigas.

Both mayors attended the "Superhero Fun Run" at the Meralco compound that was organized for the birthday of the power distributor's chairman, tycoon Manuel V. Pangilinan, who also graced the event, according to the Manila Public Information Office.

Both mayors achieved a milestone for trampling long-time political clans and heavyweight competitors: the Eusebio clan in Pasig City for Vico and former President Joseph Estrada for Isko.

Less than a month after he took his oath of office, Isko has been aggressive with his promise to clean up Manila City. He began with Divisoria, Recto, Blumentritt, and Quiapo.

Mayor Isko has already destroyed illegal video karera machines, has threatened to deport a Chinese national caught peeing in public, he asked the removal of posters that show name and faces of government officials including his in public schools, and he cleared Divisoria of street vendors.

Meanwhile, Vico - son of celebrities Vic Sotto and Coney Reyes -comes from a long line of politicians, from current Senate President Vicente Sotto III to his great grandfather Filemon Sotto, who served as a councilor and municipal vice president of then Cebu town.

Vico Sotto, however, assured that he will not establish a political dynasty in Pasig.

Netizens were quick to react to the meeting and could not help compare the two.

Others, meanwhile, rallied the public to support both politicians.
