Six suspects in the brutal killing of Ayungon-Negros Oriental police officers had been identified, with one of these suspects already in police custody, the provincial police office revealed on Tuesday.
According to Negros Oriental police chief Colonel Raul Tacaca, suspect Victoriano Bangala Anadon Jr. was in their custody, and was being held at the Ayungon jail.
The other suspects who remained at large were:
Jonathan Baldivino
Rengie Anadon Baluhabo
Gelie Anadon Ebedo
Joseph Torres Ogates
Jelly Anadon Ebedo
Four counts of murder and theft were filed against the suspects, said Tacaca.
The Negros police chief added that there were several more suspects who were yet to be unidentified.
Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Oscar Albayalde said earlier that there were 11 suspects in the cop killings.
Four Ayungon police officers were ambushed and executed by communist New People's Army gunmen last week. They were Police Corporal Relebert Beronio, Patrolman Raffy Callao, Patrolman Ruel Cabellon, and Patrolman Marquino de Leon.
President Rodrigo Duterte has offered a P1.3 million reward for any information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects. — DVM, GMA News
