Duterte family photo released as President not seen in public for days

President Rodrigo Duterte’s partner Honeylet Avanceña released a photo of the chief executive who has been out of public view for more than a week already.

Duterte was accompanied in the photo, which was taken inside their Davao City home on Sunday, by Avanceña and their daughter Veronica.

Senator Christopher “Bong” Go, meanwhile, shared to the media a photo of the President returning to Malacañang on Monday.

Duterte’s last public engagement was on August 9 when he graced the 118th Police Service Anniversary at Camp Crame in Quezon City.

Explaining Duterte’s absence from public eye, his spokesperson Salvador Panelo said last Thursday that the President was busy attending to private meetings, courtesy calls and paperwork.

Duterte’s previous absences from public view had triggered speculations about his health.

The Palace had repeatedly insisted that the 74-year-old leader was not suffering from a serious medical condition. —KG, GMA News
