Six Titus Brandsma Award recipients named
Six Filipinos in the fields of journalism and communications are recipients of this year’s Titus Brandsma Award.
The Brandsma Media Center, a Carmelite media ministry, gives the award to individuals and groups who practice the virtues of martyred Carmelite priest, journalist, and educator Blessed Titus Brandsma.
The six awardees are Ed Lingao (TV5) for Leadership in Journalism; Christian Esguerra (ABS-CBN News Channel) for Emergent Leadership in Journalism; Belina San Buenaventura-Capul (Philippine Information Agency) for Leadership in Communication and Culture & Arts, and Luis Teodoro (Center for Media Freedom and Responsibility) for the Freedom of the Press Award.
The late Gina Lopez will also be awarded for Leadership in Environmental Communication & Advocacy, while the Lifetime Achievement Award will be given to the late Jesuit writer Fr. James Reuter.
