4 suspects in Dumaguete radioman Generoso slay charged –Palace exec

All four suspects in the killing of Dumaguete City radioman Dindo Generoso have been charged, even though two of them are still at-large, the Presidential Task Force on Media Security said Sunday.

Charged for murder are Teddy Salaw, 44, (arrested); Glenn Corsame (arrested); Roger Rubio (at-large); and Tomasino Aledro (at-large), PTFoMS director Undersecretary Joel Egco said in a statement.

According to Egco, authorities are tracking down the two, including AWOL police officer Rubio.

Murder case was filed against the four at the Dumaguete City Hall of Justice prosecutor’s office on 08 November 2019.

Rubio, an active policeman, was identified as the gunman who repeatedly shot Generoso; while Aledro, reportedly a financier of the numbers game Suertres, owned the silver Mitsubishi Strada the suspects used during the crime.

"While Rubio and Aledro are still at-large, the Task Force is optimistic that it is only a matter of time before they are caught," Egco said.

Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Martin Andanar welcomed the filing of the murder case against the four, stressing that it further solidified the administration's commitment to stamp out impunity against members of the media.

"With the series of investigations and the filing of charges  against suspects in the murders of our colleagues, regardless of motive, we can say that impunity is already a thing of the past. Today, we relentlessly run after and hold to account the perpetrators, regardless of who or what they are", Andanar said.

Generoso, who worked at dyEM 96.7 (Bai Radio) was murdered around 7:25 in the morning on November 7 in Barangay Piapi, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.

He was an anchor for development programs of the local government, including a controversial reclamation project that was stopped by the Environment last week. —LBG, GMA News
