Sison’s call for Duterte to yield post to Robredo ‘nonsense’ — Palace
Malacañang on Tuesday shrugged off exiled communist leader Jose Maria Sison’s call for President Rodrigo Duterte to resign due to illnesses and use of addictive pain reliever.
“He is always talking nonsense. We will not respond,” presidential spokesperson Salvador Panelo said at a news conference.
The founder of the Communist Party of the Philippines also scored Duterte’s “long rests” and said the “small amount of work that he has done is lucrative to himself and his criminal accomplices but is greatly detrimental to the people.”
Duterte and Sison have repeatedly traded barbs over the canceled peace negotiations, the President’s governance and health condition.
In August, Duterte called on the military to end the communist insurgency in the country to spare the next generation of the problem that has hounded the country for several decades already. — Virgil Lopez/RSJ, GMA News
