Prices of shrimps, crabs seen to rise in December
Filipinos may see a rise in the prices of seafood such as shrimps and crabs in December as the Christmas season nears.
According to a Thursday report on 24 Oras, market vendors said that the goods were becoming difficult to catch due to strong winds and rough sea conditions.
The high demand for seafood, a popular viand in noche buena feast, also pushes prices up.
In Zamboanga City, a kilo of Curacha costs P400 to P600, depending on the size.
Meanwhile, lobster costs P1,800 per kilo, mud crab is sold at P500 per kilo, and a kilo of prawns costs P500 to P650, which also depends on the size. —Joahna Lei Casilao/LDF, GMA News
