Supreme Court launches judiciary help desk
The Supreme Court (SC) on Monday launched a help desk meant to serve as the "official line of communication" between the judiciary and the public.
Included in Chief Justice Diosdado Peralta's 10-point agenda, the Judiciary Public Assistance Section (JPAS) will directly be under the control and supervision of the Office of the Chief Justice.
The JPAS will manage and address queries and concerns by court users and the general public, according to the SC Public Information Office.
Peralta led the launch and said he will monitor his staff's action on the letters, inquiries, and even complaints against judges that the help desk may receive.
He said queries will be answered within 15 days as required by law, except complaints against judges, which he said will be studied thoroughly.
"But I will maintain strict confidentiality of all these reports that I will be receiving even from anonymous callers, or even an anonymous complaint, or even just a simple message transmitted to me," the chief justice said during the launch.
The public assistance section is located at the ground floor of the SC's Centennial Building. It may be reached through hotlines (02) 8552-6185, (02) 8552-9644, and (02) 8552-9646, and through its email address: chiefjusticehelpdesk@sc.judiciary.gov.ph. —KBK, GMA News
