PNP bares latest revamp


The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Wednesday bared the latest revamp affecting at least seven police officers.

Police Lieutenant General Archie Francisco Gamboa, PNP officer-in-charge, appointed Police Brigadier General Manuel Abu to lead the Headquarters Support Service.

Abu, who belongs to the Philippine Military Academy “Makatao” Class of 1989, was the erstwhile deputy director of the PNP Special Action Force and former executive officer of the PNP Directorate for Police Community Relations.

Meanwhile, Police Brigadier General Elmedio Tagra was named as the new deputy director of the Civil Security Group.

Other police officials who assumed new posts are the following:

  • Police Colonel Benjamin Acorda - Acting Executive Officer, Directorate for Intelligence
  • Police Colonel Luisito Magnaye - Acting Deputy Director, PNP Special Action Force
  • Police Colonel Rommel Francisco Marbil -  Chief of Staff, Civil Security Group
  • Police Colonel Ronaldo Cabral - Acting Deputy Regional Director for Operation, Police Regional Office 10

The above mentioned designations are all effective today, December 11.

Meanwhile, Gamboa also designated Police Colonel Ferdinand Sifuentes as the Acting Deputy Regional Director for Administration of the Police Regional Office 10, which will be effective on December 17.

Gamboa said the latest round of reorganization has shown the continuing reform in the command structure of the police organization. — Anna Felicia Bajo/RSJ, GMA News
