Gift wrappers designed by special needs children brighten up Christmas
Gift wrappers were made more meaningful this Christmas season by special needs children who came up with their own unique designs.
Students from the Independent Living Learning Students (ILLC) school in Mandaluyong followed their whims in designing their own gift wrappers.
ILLC is a school for children with special needs like those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
The school aims to provide guidance and opportunities for children with special needs.
ILLC Job Readiness Program teacher Ivie Pauline Napiza hopes that the gift wrappers will raise awareness about children with special needs.
“Sa Philippines limited pa lang ang knowledge ng mga Filipino tungkol sa ASD. ‘Yung makita no’ng tao na kahit gano’n ‘yung students namin, meron pang ma-enhance at ma-highlight po talaga,” she said.
