Grab starts disbursing refund to passengers
Transport network company Grab Philippines on Tuesday started to refund its customers in compliance with the sanctions imposed by Philippine Competition Commission's (PCC).
According to Grab, it will refund P1 for every P1,200.00 total fares a passenger spent from February 10 until May 10 this year.
It will also refund P1 for every P450 in total fares spent by passengers from May 11 to August 10, 2019.
The app-based ride-hailing firm sent messages to its riders via the application that they can now redeem their GrabPay vouchers "in accordance to the agreement with the Philippine Competition Commission."
Once redeemed, the amount will be added to a customer's GrabPay wallet.
To recall, the PCC in November ordered Grab to refund P5 million for violating its voluntary commitments it made to the antitrust watchdog.
The PCC also earlier this month ordered Grab to refund another P14.15 million, also for violating voluntary commitments made during another period. —NB, GMA News
