Duterte: Robredo a ‘colossal blunder’

President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday hit back at Vice President Leni Robredo for calling the administration’s war on drugs a failure.

Speaking to reporters in Malacañang, Duterte advised Robredo to revisit her “record.” Duterte had previously said Robredo does not possess the capability to succeed him in office.

“[F]or all of these years she has done nothing. She is a colossal blunder. Colossal blunder,” Duterte said.

In reporting her findings during her 19-day stint as co-chair of the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD), Robredo said on Monday only 1% of drug supply and money was seized by authorities since Duterte assumed office in June 2016.

Robredo also expressed disappointment that the government had no progress reports on the drug suspects who surrendered to authorities.

She also said that it would be better if the Dangerous Drugs Board leads the ICAD and not the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

Duterte said Robredo’s suggestion to transfer the ICAD chairmanship to DDB could only happen if she were president.

“She does not lecture on me,” he said.

Duterte removed Robredo from the ICAD in late November over supposed missteps she took including talking to foreign entities critical of the anti-narcotics campaign. —LDF, GMA News
