Veteran journalist Twink Macaraig passes away
Veteran journalist Twink Macaraig passed away on Tuesday, News5 confirmed in a Facebook post.
She had been battling cancer for many years.
Macaraig, a TV 5 news anchor, was also known for her columns on PhilStar and her works on Esquire. She also served as a part-time faculty lecturer at the University of the Philippines (UP) College of Mass Communication.
She was a former news anchor at ANC.
"I've long made peace with my demise," Macaraig wrote in a March 24, 2019 story published on Philippine Star. "My last will and testament — handwritten amidst many tears — is in the safe. I could give up. Succumb. Surrender. But I won't. While the very heart of me — that chamber that stores my conscience and conviction, love, dreams, memory and self-respect — remains unbreached, I will fight."
Rest in peace. — Angelica Y. Yang/LA, GMA News
