Batangas poultry farm owner gives his chickens away for free amidst Taal volcano activity

Agoncillo, Batangas councilor Crister de Leon, a poultry farm owner, has decided to give away his chickens for free amidst Taal volcano's continuous activity.

The town of Agoncillo is located inside the 14 kilometer danger zone of the volcano. Because of this, de Leon said that his 9,000 head poultry will surely perish so anyone who is interested can get as many as they want, according to Raffy Tima's report.

The Taal volcano, located within the province of Batangas, had a phreatic eruption on Sunday. On Thursday, PHIVOLCS announced that alert level 4 will remain over the volcano's activity as sulfur dioxide emission continues to increase. —Kaela Malig/MGP, GMA News
