NCRPO, CIDG chiefs promoted to police major general

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Debold Sinas and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Director Joel Coronel were promoted to the rank of major general on Tuesday.

The donning of rank ceremonies for Sinas and Coronel was presided over by PNP chief Police General Archie Gamboa at the PNP headquarters in Camp Crame.

Gamboa said the promotion of senior officials was prompted by the retirement of some police generals occupying key positions in national and regional units this year.

Meanwhile, police officials promoted to the rank of Police Brigadier General were:

• PBGen Romeo M Caramat Jr (PNP-DEG)

Gamboa reminded the newly promoted officials and unit commanders to add "more teeth" in enforcing the campaign against corruption and crimes, especially illegal gambling.

“Their performance along these campaigns will weigh heavily in the succeeding rounds of individual performance evaluation to determine their competence to continue leading their respective units,” Gamboa said. — DVM, GMA News
