Region 4 police chief Danao, Talisay Vice Mayor Natanauan now OK

It seems that everything is now OK between Region 4 police chief Police Brigadier General Vicente Danao Jr. and Talisay, Batangas Vice Mayor Charlie Natanauan as they were all smiles and shook hands before the Senate hearing on Taal evacuation started Thursday.

It was Senator Francis Tolentino, chairman of the urban planning, housing, and resettlement, who noticed that Danao and Natanauan were both present at the hearing.

“General Danao, andyan si vice mayor ah. Bati na kayo? Ngayon lang ba kayo nagkita? Vice mayor, si General Danao may mga kamag-anak sa Talisay, yung tiyuhin niya,” he said.

The two even posed for a picture to show that they are OK and even chatted for a while.

At the height of the eruption of Taal Volcano, Natanauan criticized the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology's warnings.

He even encouraged his constituents to return to their town which is within the 14-kilometer danger zone and could be affected should the hazardous eruption occur.

Danao then warned Natanauan to stop instigating the people and even threatened to offer the latter to Taal Volcano.

“Vice Mayor, nakikiusap po ako sa inyo bilang isang vice mayor ng isang lungsod diyan.  Na please, tumulong po kayo. ‘Wag na po kayo mag-udyok na pabalikin ‘yan.  Kasi po pag ‘yan ay may nangyari dahil sa pag-uudyok ninyo, pag nakita pa kitang buhay, iaalay kita sa bulkan na ‘yan,” he said. — Amita Legaspi/RSJ, GMA News
