Doctors warn against deadly social media prank ‘Skull Breaker’

Medical experts have warned the public against imitating a prank popularized on the short-form video app TikTok that involves tripping an unassuming victim.

The Skull Breaker prank is done by two accomplices who work together to trip a third person, causing the victim to fall hard on their back.

Doctors said this may fracture the victim’s bones or even lead to internal hemorrhage.

“Kung mababagok ang ulo natin, maaari tayong makaramdam ng pagsusuka, pagkahilo. Siyempre, baka mawalan din tayo ng malay,” said Dr. Gerald Belandres.

The Skull Breaker prank was popularized by some teens in South America.

The prank has already claimed the life of a 16-year-old in Brazil and led to the hospitalization of another victim in the United States.
