Batangas province prohibits entry of non-workers, non-residents
In an effort to combat the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), Batangas province prohibited the entry of non-workers and non-residents.
According to Executive Order 2HIM-10 signed by Governor Hermilando Mandanas, starting March 15, Batangas would require sea and land passengers entering the province to provide proper identification before being issued a ticket.
"There shall be no selling of tickers for non-workers going to and passing through Batangas province," the EO read.
It noted, however, that public transport within the province would operate normally and would serve passengers going to and from neighboring provinces for work.
Transport within the province would also follow guidelines released by the Department of Transportation (DOTr) for public transport -- UV Express transports should not have more than six passengers including the driver, while other public utility vehicles should not be more than half of regular capacity.
Batangas province also prohibited mass gatherings such as cockfighting, e-sabong, e-games, computer shops, regular bingo games, bars, parties, movie screenings, and the like until April 14, 2020. — Jon Viktor Cabuenas/DVM, GMA News
