Congressman tells Tagaytay rest house owners to stay at permanent homes
A Cavite congressman appealed to the public on Wednesday not to visit their rest houses in Tagaytay City amid the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine.
Cavite 8th District Representative Abraham Tolentino urged those with rest houses in Tagaytay to remain in their permanent areas of residence throughout the quarantine to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.
Tolentino said the resources of Cavite had been “depleted” during the eruption in January. He said the provincial government was trying to minimize the impact of COVID-19 on Cavite.
“‘Yun po ang iniiwasan namin, kaya baka magalit po ‘yung iba at makarating pa sa Department of the Interior and Local Government na bakit kami naghihigpit,” Tolentino said.
COVID-19 has claimed 33 lives and infected a total of 552 people nationwide as of Tuesday afternoon. -NB, GMA News
