4 hurt in Valenzuela shootout - report

Two policemen and two suspected robbers were wounded following a shootout in Valenzuela City early Monday morning. The Northern Police District (NPD) said the armed men were responsible for a robbery at the United Coconut Planters Bank (UCPB) branch some weeks back. "Itong grupong ito nagnakaw sa UCPB branch sa E. Rodriguez a few weeks ago. Dalawa ang wounded at ang iba hinahabol pa (It is the same group that robbed the UCPB branch in Quezon City some weeks back)," NPD head Chief Superintendent Pedro Tango said in an interview on dzBB radio. He initially identified the wounded policemen as PO3 Busedo and SPO1 Lazaro. He said their injuries were "not life-threatening." Initial reports showed the suspects fired at a Daihatsu van (PRA-783) during the running gunbattle. - GMANews.TV
