Navy personnel create improvised face shields
Philippine Navy personnel are creating face shields from various materials as they prepare for deployment for Luzon's enhanced community quarantine.
The Naval Sea Systems Command (NSSC) has initiated the production of face shields in response to the lack of personal protective equipment (PPE) for those assigned at quarantine checkpoints, the Navy said.

"We wanted to support our frontliners by creating something that they can use in the fight against COVID-19," NSSC commander Rear Admiral Rommel Galang said.
"We also worry for their safety amid dwindling supply of protective equipment, this is why we thought of creating our own face shields," he added.
The face shields will be given to the Naval Task Group - National Capital Region.
A total of 470 face shields, made from transparency film, foam, garter, and double-sided tape, were already produced since March 25. —Anna Felicia Bajo/LBG, GMA News
