PNP monitoring 76 PUIs, 905 PUMs, spox Banac says

Over 70 personnel from the Philippine National Police were considered as persons under investigation while more than 900 others were listed as persons under monitoring for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), PNP spokesperson Police Brigadier General Bernard Banac said on Friday.

In a press statement, Banac said the PNP Health Service is closely monitoring the conditions of the 76 PUIs and 905 PUMs to determine further actions based on the parameters set by the Department of Health.

Earlier, the PNP already bared that two policemen have tested positive for COVID-19. One of the patients is a 32-year-old cop assigned in Metro Manila while the other is a 52-year-old assigned in Laguna.

Due to the increasing number of PUIs and PUMs, the PNP has intensified its biosafety plan against the disease. The plan will be observed in Camp Crame, as well as other police camps across the country.

"All vehicles entering Camp Crame will pass through a tire bath and its occupants are required to alight and walk thru a disinfectant misting tent and undergo body temperature scan," Banac said.

"Also part of the biosafety plan is the proper disposal of biohazardous waste materials such as discarded PPE, face mask, gloves that is also being implemented by the Headquarters Support Service," he added.—AOL, GMA News
