DILG chief says 4Ps beneficiaries don’t need to fill out SAC forms

Beneficiaries of the government's Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) no longer need to fill out Social Amelioration Card (SAC) forms as their cash subsidies will directly be credited to their respective accounts, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said Monday.

"Hindi na kailangan pang magfill out ng SAC form ang 4Ps dahil sila ang pinrioritize ng pamahalaan at makukuha na nila ang kanilang cash subsidies sa kanilang ATM,” DILG Secretary Eduardo Año said in a statement.

According to Año, the 4Ps beneficiaries were ahead in receiving the cash subsidies from the government.

For 4Ps beneficiaries without cash card accounts, funds have been downloaded to the regional offices of the Department of Social Welfare and Development to facilitate the pay-out to family beneficiaries via manual means, the DILG chief said.

"The DSWD is now coordinating with Local Government Units in those areas for the scheduled release of their emergency subsidy in their localities," he said.

"The urgent matter now is to ensure that the other low-income families qualified under the SAP will be able to fill out the form and comply with the DSWD requirements so they too can avail of the government support intended for them," Año added.

Año said the first wave of cash subsidies was released last Friday to 4Ps beneficiaries from the National Capital Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Regions I, II, and III.

The government has said only low-income families belonging to the informal sector are qualified to receive an emergency cash subsidy which is around P5,000 to P8,000.

According to the Department of Social Welfare and Development, the amount of cash subsidy that each low-income family varies depending on the prevailing minimum wage rates in their regions. — Anna Felicia Bajo/RSJ, GMA News
