Office of Civil Defense: All donations received by intended beneficiaries
The Office of Civil Defense (OCD), the government agency that manages donations for healthcare facilities and workers amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, assured the public on Monday that all donations “are being received by intended beneficiaries.”
The statement was issued after social media posts alleged that the items intended as donation to hospitals were offered for sale.
The agency added that a strict monitoring system for the distribution of donations is in place.
“The OCD condemns the said act as well as the other disinformation which aim to advance a personal interest,” they said in a statement.
“The OCD ensures that donations and other procured items are properly managed as it upholds transparency and efficient arrangements.”
The agency assured that appropriate actions will be taken in cases where irregularities are observed and that a portion of the official website showcases COVID-19 donations that is accessible to the public. -- BAP, GMA News
