Teachers' 13th month pay ready for release by May 15 —DepEd

Education Undersecretary for Finance Annalyn Sevilla on Tuesday said the 13th month pay of teachers will be ready by May 15.

“Ang ating 13th month pay ay atin na rin pong pinoproseso  at ready na rin po for release by May 15,” Sevilla said in a televised press briefing.

Aside from this, Sevilla said they released in advance the salaries of DepEd employees for March and April in light of the financial impact of the implementation of enhanced community quarantine to prevent further spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

She said the clothing allowance of their employees have already been distributed.

“’Yun pong May (salary) ay processing na rin po ngayon,” she added.

Sevilla noted that the performance-based bonus for teachers is also being processed.

The DepEd also coordinated with concerned sectors to implement moratorium on the salary deduction of teachers due to loans. According to Sevilla, loan terms will also be extended.

“Dadagdagan natin ang loan term, hindi sila mag-aalala. Kung ang inyong loan ay naka-encode sa ating database, kami ay mag-eextend ng loan term nito,” she said.—AOL, GMA News
