Sinas says he has ‘recovered’ from low morale caused by mañanita backlash

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Major General Debold Sinas on Monday said that he has "recovered" from low morale caused by the backlash to his birthday celebration during the enhanced community quarantine.

According to an exclusive report on 24 Oras by Marisol Abdurahman, Sinas was smiling and in high spirits as he inspected big malls in Metro Manila on Monday.

“Low morale, siyempre nandiyan ‘yan. But I recovered and I show sa mga tao ko na that’s part of the game, that’s part of leadership… Part sa trabaho ‘yan, part sa batikos ‘yan, ‘di ba,” he said.

Sinas also said he believes that he still has the moral ascendancy to lead the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) despite the controversy.

“I still have the authority to serve...as long as the Chief PNP, the President believe in my ability to lead NCRPO, and my people themselves believe na I can lead them properly,” he said.

Sinas earlier apologized for the party, called a mañanita, but refused to take a leave of absence.

The Philippine National Police has already filed charges against Sinas and 18 other people who attended the mañanita.  — Julia Mari Ornedo/BM, GMA News
