New PNP spokesman to assume post Saturday
A returning spokesman of the Philippine National Police (PNP) will formally assume his post in simple rites at PNP headquarters in Camp Crame on Saturday. Radio dzEC reported Friday that Sr. Supt. Nicanor Bartolome will formally take over the post as PNP spokesman from Chief Supt. Samuel Pagdilao Jr, who was reassigned to Eastern Visayas regional office. Bartolome held the spokesman's post during the Estrada administration from 1999 to 2001, when now-senator Panfilo Lacson headed the national police. His last assignment before returning to the spokesman's post was as provincial police director in Tarlac province. Among the high-profile cases he handled was the murder of Aglipayan bishop Alberto Ramento in 2006. His men arrested three suspected robbers in the case. On the other hand, the dzEC report said Pagdilao was reassigned to the Eastern Visayas regional police officer where he will be deputy director for administration. - GMANews.TV
