Another House employee tests positive for COVID-19
Another House of Representatives employee tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), House Secretary General Jose Montales said Sunday.
In a statement relayed to reporters, Montales said the employee was assigned to the Committee on Justice Department of the House of Representatives.
The infected personnel last reported for work on June 24 to pick up some materials, he added.
However, on June 15, the employee attended a brief meeting with her peers in the Committee on Justice.
“We remind everyone to be extra cautious,” Montales said. “With the lifting of restrictions on the movement of people and the opening of economy, we are exposed to higher risk when we go outside of our homes.
“Let’s strictly follow our health and safety protocols,” he added.
Last July 1, a House employee who was assigned to the Internal Audit Department tested positive for COVID-19.
As of Sunday, a total of 44,254 COVID-19 cases have been recorded in the country including 1,297 deaths and 11,942 recoveries. — Ma. Angelica Garcia/BM, GMA News
