Duterte’s 5th SONA will not go beyond 1 hour 20 minutes — Andanar
The speech of President Rodrigo Duterte for his fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday will not go beyond an hour and 20 minutes, the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) said.
PCOO Secretary Martin Andanar said Duterte rehearsed the SONA speech for the second time on Sunday night.
“I think it will not go beyond an hour and twenty. Again, it's the president's prerogative to do adlibs in between,” Andanar said in an interview on ANC.
He added that the SONA will start at 4 p.m. with the usual tradition.
“It will begin at 4 p.m . the usual tradition of having the Speaker of the House and a Senate president opening the floor for everybody, there are also be the flag ceremony and the usual prayer,” he said.
After delivering the speech, Duterte will immediately go back to Malacañang without any media interview, Andanar said.
He said Duterte’s speech will be full of optimism and hope.
“As in the past SONAs, the President may discuss the achievements of the administration to date until the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic,” he added. — Joviland RSJ, GMA News
