PNP records 29 additional COVID-19 cases; total reaches 2,037


The Philippine National Police recorded 29 new cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) among its personnel on Monday, raising the total tally to 2,037.

Latest data from the PNP showed that recoveries, meanwhile, climbed to 725 after nine more employees recovered from the illness, while the death toll within the PNP remained at 10.

As of 6 p.m. of July 27, the PNP also had 2,427 suspected COVID-19 cases and 776 probable cases.

The PNP reminded its employees experiencing symptoms similar to COVID-19 to contact its health service.

Nationwide, cases of COVID-19 soared to 82,040 with 26,446 recoveries and 1,945 fatalities. — Ma. Angelica Garcia/BM, GMA News
