DTI chief bares added rules for gyms, personal grooming, review centers
Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez on Friday explained the additional health protocols to be complied by establishments that were allowed to open under general community quarantine starting August 1.
On Wednesday, the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) approved the reopening at 30% capacity of aesthetic services, gyms and fitness centers, review centers, internet cafes, cosmetic dentistry clinics under GCQ.
“Ang mga dagdag na pag-iingat natin dito sa pagbubukas ng ilan pang mga sektor ay ‘yung pag-require pa ng ibang protective gears dito sa mga sectors na ito, ang mga worker dito at mga customer nila,” Lopez said during the Laging Handa public briefing.
For gyms and fitness centers, the Trade chief said goers are required to wear gloves and face masks. Physical distancing shall be strictly observed.
“At ang importante ‘yung air circulation, maganda ang airflow in other words maganda ang exhaust system kung hindi man mas maganda ‘yung open air din,” Lopez said.
For testing and review centers, the Cabinet official said that aside from physical distancing and wearing of face masks, such establishments should limit the number of people to 10 per room.
“Eventually, aside from mask i-encourage din ang pagsusuot ng face shield para dagdag protection,” Lopez said.
For personal grooming or aesthetic service centers, the Trade chief said workers should wear gloves as well as coveralls.
“Dapat frequent ang sanitizing ng equipment nila,” Lopez said.
The Trade chief noted that the compliance of establishments earlier allowed to reopen range between 92% and 100%. —LBG, GMA News
