COVID-infected Coast Guard personnel now at 616 — spokesman

Philippine Coast Guard spokesman Commodore Armand Balilo on Friday said personnel infected with COVID-19 within PCG already rose to 616.

In an interview on Super Radyo dzBB, Balilo said that of this number, 330 personnel have already recovered from the disease.

"Hindi naman po kami pinapabayaan ng aming leadership, si Admiral Ursabia po ay nagpapatupad ng mahigpit na safety protocol, mga pagpapahinga po para sa aming swabbers, medical technologies..." Balilo said.

Balilo also said the Department of Transportation has been closely monitoring the health and safety of PCG personnel.

To ensure the health and safety of PCG personnel, the PCG has vowed that regular conduct of RT/PCR tests would be done among its frontline personnel, aside from providing them with vitamins, PPE sets, and medical supplies for everyday use. — Anna Felicia Bajo/RSJ, GMA News
