What Ghost Month means for new businesses
A Feng Shui expert on Wednesday advised business owners against launching a new start-up amid Ghost Month in line with Chinese tradition.
According to JM Encinas’ report on “Stand for Truth,” the Chinese believe that souls return to pay a visit during Ghost Month or the Hungry Ghost Festival, which runs from August 19 to September 16 this year.
The Chinese also believe that businesses launched during Ghost Month will be unsuccessful.
“Ang ghost month po talaga kasi, hindi lang siya masyadong maganda for new start ups. Example, if wala pa ‘ko totally existing business and I’m gonna do a new business itong panahon ng ghost month, hindi siya masyadong maganda,” Feng Shui expert Johnson Chua said.
However, he also acknowledged that business opportunities abound amid the pandemic.
“Makikita po natin na nangyari po ang pandemic, everyone is pushed in the corner na kung saan napipilitan ang mga tao para to create opportunities,” he said.
Chua said prayer is the best way to combat the negativity that comes with Ghost Month.
“Number 1 talaga is prayer. ‘Yun ang pinaka the best, kasi alam naman po natin na with prayers, with heaven on our side, we can always have a positive mind, positive wisdom, kaya ‘yun ang number one panlaban talaga,” he said.
“And also if you are practicing crystals and stones, mga black stones, it can also help us like black tourmaline, onyx, black obsidian. These stones can help to shield you against negative energy,” Chua added. —Julia Mari Ornedo/LDF, GMA News
