Village exec shot dead by Manila vice mayor's aide

Manila police are now tracking down a bodyguard of Vice Mayor Francisco Domogoso (a.k.a. Isko Moreno) who shot dead a village councilor in the city's Tondo district before dawn Tuesday. Radio dzRH reported Tuesday morning that the Manila Police District (MPD) identified the suspect as Jonathan Ignacio, 34, a bodyguard of the vice mayor. The victim, Joselito Paglibuan, 43, a councilor of Bgy. 64, Zone 6, died before doctors at the Mary Johnston Hospital could treat his injuries. Investigator-on-case SPO3 Edmundo Cabal said they are looking into reports that the incident was a "crime of passion." Cabal cited initial information that Ignacio was sore at Paglibuan because Ignacio's wife left him and went to Paglibuan. The incident occurred near the village hall at the corner of Franco and Moriones Streets in Tondo. At the time, Paglibuan was standing near the hall when Ignacio showed up and shot him. - GMANews.TV
