Issuance of travel authority to LSIs going to Negros Occidental temporarily suspended —PNP

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday announced that the issuance of travel authority for locally stranded individuals bound for Negros Occidental is temporaily suspended.

In an advisory, the PNP said the suspension would be until October 9.

The PNP said the move is in compliance with the Joint Resolution No. 43 of the Western Visayas Regional Inter-Agency Task Force (RIATF) on COVID-19 that approved the suspension of the return of LSIs and residents to the province from October 3 to 9.

A travel authority is required if the travels are outside Metro Manila and outside their respective provinces based on the instruction of Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Año.

The Directorate for Operations already alerted all police regional offices, Aviation Security Group and Maritime Group to enforce the temporary suspension of travel to the province. —Anna Felicia Bajo/KG, GMA News
