Duterte conducts aerial inspection of flooded areas due to Ulysses

President Rodrigo Duterte conducted an aerial inspection of areas devastated by Typhoon Ulysses on Thursday afternoon.

Senator Christopher "Bong" Go, a former special aid of the President, posted a selfie with Duterte inside a helicopter.

Among the areas they checked were Marikina City and Rizal province.

Footage sent by Go showed several houses submerged in flood. The senator said Duterte already ordered concerned agencies to deploy all their available rescue equipment.

“Pinapa-mobilize n’ya po ang lahat ng assets ng AFP, including Air Force, Army, mga kapulisan, Coast Guard at Navy, lalo na po sa mga kailangan po ng rubber boats para mapasok agad at ma-rescue ang mga kababayan natin na na-trap,” Go said earlier during the Laging Handa briefing.

Duterte conducted the aerial inspection after attending the virtual 37th ASEAN Summit, according to presidential spokesperson Harry Roque. —LBG, GMA News
