Magat Dam to release water ahead of Vicky's rains
The Magat River Integrated Irrigation System Dam and Reservoir Division on Friday announced that the Magat Dam will release water on Saturday, December 19 in preparation for Tropical Depression Vicky.
According to Vicky Morales’ report on “24 Oras,” one gate will be opened, and 200 cubic meters of water per second will be released.
However, the management clarified that the Magat Dam water level had not yet reached the spilling level.
Data from PAGASA showed that the water level was at 191.15 meters as of 6 a.m. on Friday.
This is lower than the normal high water level of 193 meters. — Joahna Lei Casilao/DVM, GMA News
