Navotas street placed on localized lockdown over COVID-19 cases

The Navotas City government placed a street in Barangay Bangkulasi under a localized lockdown after nine residents tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

According to Raffy Tima’s report on “24 Oras” on Tuesday, the street will be under lockdown until January 2.

The city government already deployed police, barangay officials, and a contact tracing team in the area.

“So ‘yong buong area po ng eskinita na ‘yan is lahat po na-swab then mayroon po kaming nakitang positive na apat sa kanila tapos sa isang pamilya po dalawa so we decided na i-lockdown po sila,” contact tracing team leader Aljun Gregorio said.

“Nakakulong po ‘yong area na may probable case so by this nape-prevent po ‘yong pag-spike ng virus,” he added.

Meanwhile, those who tested positive for the virus are now under quarantine.

A total of 66 families are affected by the lockdown.
