Low-pressure area approaching Eastern Mindanao
A shallow low-pressure area spotted near Mindanao Thursday has intensified into a low-pressure area (LPA) and is moving closer to Eastern Mindanao on Friday, government weather forecasters said. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the LPA was estimated to be some 230 kilometers east of Mindanao as of 2 a.m. Friday. It added the tail-end of a cold front is affecting Northern, Eastern and Southern Luzon. Pagasa forecast Northern, Eastern and Southern Luzon will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rains. Visayas and Mindanao will have mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms while the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to at times cloudy with isolated rainshowers, Pagasa said. - GMANews.TV
