Quarantine restrictions eased in Isabela province, Iloilo City
President Rodrigo Duterte eased quarantine restrictions in Isabela province and Iloilo City amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a statement, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, Jr. said that the President limited the imposition of General Community Quarantine (GCQ) protocols to the National Capital Region (NCR); Santiago City, Isabela; Tacloban City; Iligan City; Lanao del Sur; Davao City; and Davao del Norte starting January 1 until January 31, 2021.
The list of areas under a GCQ initially included Isabela province and Iloilo City.
All other areas in the country are placed under a Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ).
Unlike in MGCQ areas, tourism activities are not allowed in locations under a GCQ.
The Philippines recorded 475,820 COVID-19 cases as of Friday afternoon, with 439,895 recoveries and 9,248 fatalities. — DVM, GMA News
