Foreigners may now renew reentry permits at airport —BI
Foreigners will now be allowed to renew their reentry permits upon arrival in the Philippines, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said.
The BI said the official receipt of the payment for reentry permit should be presented to the immigration officer at the airport.
Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente said the new policy would facilitate the unhampered entry of foreigners with existing valid visas who were not permitted to enter the country due to COVID-19 restrictions.
These include foreigners who are permanent residents in the Philippines and holders of working and student visas.
Morente said the new policy was adopted after Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra ordered the bureau to allow the reentry of these foreigners instead of sending them back to their port of origin.—AOL, GMA News
