Laguna back under ECQ, says Gov. Hernandez

Laguna Governor Ramil Hernandez on Saturday said his province will be placed once again under the strictest enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) following a recent surge in COVID-19 cases.

"According to the IATF's latest resolution, our province will be placed again in Enhanced Community Quarantine or ECQ from March 28 to April 4, 2021," he said.

"This is also due to the increase in the number of COVID-19 cases recently," Hernandez added.

The governor reminded the public to be careful and always follow safety protocols and minimum health standards.

In a now deleted Facebook post,  Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla on Saturday also said his province, along with "other areas," will return to ECQ.

In his post, Remulla said, “ECQ again.”

ECQ is the strictest lockdown measure, with stringent limitations on movement and transportation of people, strict regulation of operating industries, provision of food and essential services, and heightened presence of uniformed personnel to enforce community.

Citing his conversation with Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, Remulla said, “Cavite along with other areas will be under ECQ from Sunday, March 28-April 4, 2021.”

He, however, did not specify what are the other areas to be placed under ECQ.

“I will report details as I get it,” he said. -MDM, GMA News
